Things that make the word look like what it means:

1.) The word is in the bottom corner so it is out of the way and not in your face.

2.) The font is a kind of cursive writing because it is very elegant and peaceful. Most of the time the quiet is peaceful.

3.) there is no color in this piece, only black and white, because I didn't want there to have an overpowering color that was loud and vibrant.

4.) The word is small because if it was big, it would feel too overpowering and coming out at you.

5.) I put a radial gradient in the back so it has a smooth transition instead of sharp edges, and so you can see the word without there being harsh exaggeration on the word.

Camouflage

Things that make the word look like what it means:

1.) The words are slightly hidden behind blurred squares to make them seem like they are a little hidden

2.) I made the background green because I wanted the letters so blend in with the words so they would be hidden or camouflage

3.) I put gradients on the letters to give them a pattern that kind of looks camouflage.

4.) I made the placement of the words going back, blurring each one a little more than the previous. This kind of makes it look like there are bushes in front of each word, giving it a nature-like look.

5.) I made the base color for the page green, because when I think about camouflage I think about nature and green and brown.

Loud

Things that make the word look like what it means:

1.) The size of the word is very big, and going off the page because if something is loud it is typically big and in your face.

2.) The words are 3D so they would really come out at you and make you feel like they are bold and exaggerated.

3.) I made the background a radial gradient to make the word pop out more and feel like it is forward in space.

4.) I added the little exclamation points because when something has a exclamation point at the end it is typically being yelled loudly.

5.) I made the colors very vibrant, bright colors that would stand out.

Implied

Things I did to make the word look like what it means:

1.) I covered up one of the letters so you had to IMPLY what the covered up letter is.

2.) I made the colors of the text the colors of the rainbow so you could IMPLY that the covered up letter is the color indigo.

3.)I staggered each letter so you would assume the placement of the word

4.) I put a question mark pattern over some letters/for the background because another way to say you implied something is to say you assumed something, which means you don't truly know you are just guessing.

5.) I put the question mark pattern over some of the letters because it was a pattern of one behind and one in front that you could guess

Screenshot Envy

I used pictures of German Shepards (One grown and one a puppy), and put them together to form a head. I then found a picture of the woods and put that in the back. I image traced both images and played with their saturation and color to make the focus mainly on the two dogs in the middle. the less saturation in the background makes the more saturated colors in the middle stand out and pop. I then used the pucker tool to make circles in the background that kind of look like light glare. I took a small screenshot of the woods in the background and stretched it out across the entire bottom of the image. After I did that, I still thought that the background seemed like too much for the rest, and it was confusing for your eyes, so I put a radial gradient in the back so your eyes were drawn to the middle, then I just changed the opacity on it so it wasn't overpowering.

Cover page for my book

My cover page is suppose to represent how people use different tools to have an "outburst" of creativity. You can use your computer, or you can use your hand. I used lines to draw your attention to the hand, and I also created a circle to make sure your eyes went to the right place. then you look at the computer, then your eyes are carried with the lines again and you see my name and the word "Outburst".
